Donor Egg IVF Refund Guarantee Options
The most important information about donor egg IVF treatment is its extraordinary effectiveness. While rarely an initial preference among couples with infertility, the use of donor egg IVF or donor egg ICSI is a superb second choice. Most importantly, it is one option much more likely to help paitents achieve success. In addition to Genetics & IVF Institute’s fee for service plan, financial options at Genetics & IVF Institute allow couples to utilize donor egg IVF services while selecting from one of several refund guarantee options that preserves their investment if they are unsuccessful. Also, Genetics & IVF Institute is offering new inclusion criteria that will allow many patients, who otherwise would not qualify for inclusion in a donor egg IVF program, to participate through Genetics & IVF Institute.

Genetics & IVF Institute’s donor egg IVF program started treating couples in 1988, and is responsible for hundreds of successful births since that time. Our program prides itself on the large, diverse selection of high-quality donors immediately available to couples, as well as the exceptional standards of care our patients receive during their assisted reproductive treatments. Couples can search our on-line list of donors and discuss options with our coordinators as they make their important decisions.

This web page will focus on the programs recent success rates with fresh and frozen embryos, as well as the financial options that are available to our patients.

What does the ‘Pregnancy Guarantee Program’ cover?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUCCESS RATES
Couples who select the donor egg IVF option often already have exhausted the IVF options available to them without success. Donor egg IVF allows a couple's chance of a successful pregnancy to leap up to the 50-60% range in just one cycle. Furthermore, with donor egg IVF treatment, the age of the woman is virtually irrelevant to the success of the process

In an average sole match donor egg IVF cycle (one donor matched to one recipient) at Genetics & IVF Institute, 80% of couples produce enough embryos for cryopreservation (freezing), thus allowing for additional low-cost embryo transfer cycles without the need for a second full donor egg IVF cycle if the fresh transfer does not achieve an immediate pregnancy.

GIVF offers donor egg IVF patients whose insurance does not cover treatment a number of financial options as well as a wide choice of donors. Patients may pay per donor egg IVF cycle or they may qualify to participate in one of several partial or fully-refundable program options (Pregnancy Guarantee Programs). Unlike centers that exclude many patients from Pregnancy Guarantee Programs because of health or certain other situations, GIVF expanded Pregnancy Guarantee Program opportunities for patients by creating a unique "opportunity" program that allows couples with certain health conditions or situations to participate in Pregnancy Guarantee Program for an additional fee.

FROZEN EMBRYOS
Having a high quality frozen embryo program is critical to offering higher, cumulative probabilities of success. Our data on fresh and frozen embryo cycles in donor egg IVF is very encouraging for couples anxiously seeking to have a child. From the initial fresh transfer alone, over 50% of couples establish a pregnancy, an additional 30% of the remainder will conceive from the first frozen embryo transfer, and with repetitive efforts only a tiny fraction of patients will not succeed in getting the baby they desire.

The ability to offer a high-quality frozen embryo program distinguishes a program's success rate overall. Genetics & IVF Institute has one of the most comprehensive and successful storage programs available, storing embryos for couples from all of our IVF treatment programs for over 15 years.

It is important to note that at Genetics & IVF Institute we freeze every embryo in an individual container rather than combining multiple embryos. This allows each couple the ability to decide exactly how many embryo(s) they want to thaw and transfer.

Couples come to appreciate that, if they are making a significant investment in time, effort and finances, they want to maximize their chance of success from just one egg donor cycle. We cannot guarantee that all our donors will produce enough embryos for two or more transfer cycles. Yet, in a sole match cycle the likelihood is very high that a couple will have enough embryos for at least one more additional transfer cycle of frozen embryos from just one Donor Egg IVF cycle.

At Genetics & IVF Institute a single frozen embryo transfer produces pregnancy in an additional 33% of patients who did not get pregnant from their first fresh embryo transfer.

The Donor Egg IVF Pregnancy Guarantee Refund Program

The Donor Egg IVF Pregnancy Guarantee Refund Program offers qualified patients the opportunity to get all or part of their money back in the unlikely event of not becoming pregnant within three years using GIVF's Donor Egg IVF program. The Refund program is a three-year contract that includes up to 4 fresh donor egg IVF cycles, all resulting frozen embryo transfers, cryopreservation and storage within the allotted time period. If you do not have a live birth (26 weeks gestation or higher) at the end of this contract, part, or in some cases all, of the money you place towards this contract is refundable. All cycles must be initiated within 36 months of signing the Program Agreement.

The program includes at least two and possibly three components. Fees are associated with each component. The combined fees for the components constitute the total cost.

The first component includes the monitoring, transfer and retrieval procedures for up to four fresh donor IVF cycles, all related frozen embryo cycles, cryopreservation and storage. The base price for this component is $23,800. This fee is fully refundable if the terms of the contract are not fulfilled.

The second component of pricing includes the screening fees, donor compensation and administration fees for using a donor. There are two options to choose from and the fees differ, depending upon the option you choose:

Option A prepays all 4 donor cycle fees. The charge is $26,100. This price also includes donor's medications and anesthesia. It is fully refundable if the terms of the contract are not fulfilled.

Option B is a pay as you go option. You pay $10,000 each time you have a fresh donor cycle. This option is not refundable and includes anesthesia. It does not include medications.

The third component is the “expanded options” section. In certain situations (ICSI, MicroSort) other procedures are desired or required and a premium will be assessed. Patients with certain health conditions that affect their ability to become pregnant may incur other fees. The physicians will determine whether the patient has any of the conditions that may trigger added fees.

Your total cost will be determined by adding the fees for each component.

You are welcome to contact us directly with additional questions about cost and/or the Refund program.

WHAT DOES THE "PREGNANCY GUARANTEE PROGRAM" COVER?
The basic treatment cycle fee covers up to four sole-match donor cycles, the cost of freezing excess embryos, and the costs of the frozen embryo transfer cycles.

"Expanded option pricing" is a special feature of Genetics & IVF Institute's donor egg IVF refund options and can help many patients who have certain medical conditions which to a greater or less extent could reduce the likelihood of rapid success with donor egg IVF therapy. In this innovative financial alternative, based on the specific circumstances, we calculate an additional fee that allows patients who otherwise would not qualify to take advantage of the refundable options above. This fee is fully refundable, subject to terms and conditions of the agreement. Each patient is personally advised after consultation and careful evaluation if this pricing alternative may be considered by them. Exclusions apply.

Please schedule an initial consultation or call us for more information.
Some of the conditions or situations that may require using the special pricing option include, but are not limited to:

Male factors:
• ICSI required
• Severely abnormal sperm (specific parameters apply)
Female factors:
• Age greater than 49
• Excessive weight
• Uterine fibroid (depending upon size and location)
• Prior unsuccessful donor egg IVF treatment
